Chinese Vice President Zeng Qinghong said in Beijing Sunday that the Communist Party of China (CPC) will work as always closely with other parties in leading the country to build up a well-off society.

Addressing a celebration marking the 80th founding anniversary of the China Zhi Gong Party, Zeng described the party as CPC's close ally and expressed his appreciation of the party's great contributions to the reunification and rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

He reiterates the commitment to continue to consolidate and develop the patriotic united front, improve the system of multi-party cooperation and political consultation under the leadership of CPC and implement the basic principle of working with democratic parties, which features long-term coexistence, mutual supervision, treating each other with all sincerity and sharing weal or woe.

He urged the China Zhi Gong Party to mobilize overseas Chinese and those who return to China to offer more suggestions on building up a harmonious society, fight against the activities attempting to make Taiwan secede from China and promote the friendship between Chinese people and other peoples.

Luo Haocai, chairman of the China Zhi Gong Party Central Committee, called on the party members to work together to promote national reunification and world peace and common development.

The China Zhi Gong Party, one of nine democratic parties in China, was founded in 1925 in San Francisco, United States. Its members are mainly returned overseas Chinese and their families, personage and scholars who have overseas relations.
