Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Muhammad al-Sabah said on Sunday that Iraq's unity, security and stability are of paramount importance to all Arab states, Kuwait News Agency reported.
Sheikh Muhammad made the remarks prior to departing for Jeddah,Saudi Arab, to attend a meeting of the Arab Ministerial Committee on Iraq due to be held on Sunday night.
"The objective of the committee is to support Iraq in its quest for peace and security and stability," he was quoted as saying, adding the idea for the committee meeting had been hammered out last September by the Arab foreign ministers.
"This committee was formed at the behest of Iraq and will proceed for the ultimate benefit of that country," he said.
The committee's Sunday night meeting will bring together a number of Iraq's neighbors plus Algeria which currently heads the Arab summit.
