China coal mine explosion kills 34
Rescuers prepare to go into a coal mine to search for stranded miners in Hebi City, central China's Henan Province, in the early morning of October 3, 2005. A gas explosion occured at 4:45 a.m. Monday in the coal mine belonging to the Henan Hebi Coal (group) company, claiming 34 lives. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
