DPRK urges US to build mutual trust in solving disputes

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea(DPRK) on Tuesday urged the United States to build mutual trust as the key to solving DPRK-US disputes.

In a signed commentary, the Rodong Sinmun newspaper accused the United States of "paying a lip service to the peace on the Korean Peninsula". The US actions are "quite different from its commitments," it said.

"The US is stepping up its preparations for another war behind the scene of dialogue ... its intention to stifle the DPRK and dominate the whole of Korea is invariable," it added.

The new US military strategy depending on advanced weapons "is an open challenge" to the peace on the Korean Peninsula, as well as in Asia and the rest of the world, the commentary said.

It stressed that the United States must give up its hostility against the DPRK and take concrete measures to build mutual trust between the two sides.
