East China's Shandong Province registered an outstanding amount of bank savings totaling 1.65 trillion yuan by the end of August this year, up 35.6 percent year on year, the latest statistics showed.

Banking savings by enterprises rose by 1.1 times and that by individuals went by 89.5 percent year on year, according to the provincial statistics bureau.

The outstanding amount of bank loans was 1.29 trillion yuan by the end of August, a rise of 53.3 percent on a yearly basis, the bureau figures show.

The bureau ascribed the increase in bank savings to the good economic performance during the first eight months this year.

The province's industrial sales reached 1.8328 trillion yuan in the first eight-month period, up 42.3 percent. The post-tax industrial profits surged 49.4 percent year on year to reach 123.44 billion yuan in the eight months to end at August.

Local revenue reached 67.34 billion yuan, up 25.6 percent over the corresponding period of last year.
