A highway linking Jiuquan City in northwest China's Gansu Province and its Satellite Launching Center has been completed and fully opened to traffic after four years' construction.

Running a full length of 144.72 kilometers, construction of the highway started in October 2001 at a total cost of 200 million yuan.

The highway is expected to directly benefit 520,000 people as a landmark facility to serve the west development strategy and drive forward local economy.
