Tourism revenue during Golden Week hits 46.3 billion yuan

This year's National Day holiday was the fifteenth Golden Week organized by National Holiday Office. The statistics from National Bureau of Statistics and National Tourism Administration show that tourists across the country during the holiday recorded 111 million, a year-on-year increase of 10.5 percent; the tourism revenue generated amounted to 46.3 billion yuan, up 16.6 percent from last year; tourists' per capita consumption reached 415 yuan this year.

Since the implementation of the tourism Golden Week, the total tourists nationwide have reached a record high of 1.18 billion, generating 475.5 billion yuan in tourism revenue.

According to Zhang Xiqin, executive director of Golden Week, National Holiday Office the Golden Week this year has been marked with four characteristics: more tourists, safe tour, sound traveling order as well as high service quality. From 1 pm Sep. 30 to 6 pm Oct. 7, National Holiday Office has received 372 calls from tourists, including 171 complaints, falling down 59 percent from the same period last year.
