Chongqing and Brisbane establish relations of friendly citiesSouthwest China's Chongqing municipality and Australia's harbour city Brisbane established relations of friendly cities here Tuesday on the eve of the 2005 Asia Pacific Cities Summit. Addressing the agreement signing ceremony, Chongqign Mayor Wang Hongju said the establishment of the friendly relations means that China's largest municipality joins its hands with the biggest harbour city in Australia. Following the establishment of the friendly relations, Wang expected further economic and trade cooperation and more exchanges between the two cities and their citizens. Brisbane is the initiating city of the Asia Pacific Cities Summit, said its mayor Campell Newman who has come here to attend the 2005 Asia Pacific Cities Summit slated for Wednesday, adding that it is the summit that brings good luck to the two cities by making them friends.
