Preliminary tally shows female economist leads in Liberia's first post-war poll

Former World Bank economist Ellen Johnson-Sir leaf has taken an early lead while football great George Wah is second in Liberia's first post-war presidential election, the elections commission said on Wednesday.

The two front runners in the presidential race from initial results are Ellen Johnson-Sir leaf with 24.6 percent of votes, while George Wah gathers 21.2 percent,said Frances Johnson-Morris, chairman of the National Elections Commission (NEC).
