South Korea's jobless rate climbed to 3.6 percent in September from 3.4 percent a year ago, a government report showed Thursday.
The seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate in Asia's fourth-largest economy stood at 4.0 percent in September, up 0.3 percentage point from the previous month and a four-year high, according to the report by the National Statistical Office.
The number of jobless people rose to 870,000 last month from 792,000 a year earlier.
