Death toll in Pakistan's Saturday earthquake has risen to more than 25,000, with some 63, 000 others injured, military spokesman said Thursday.

Major General Shakaut Sultan was quoted by private Geo television as saying that the official death toll is 25,000 plus and the number of injured is more than 63,000.

Pakistani Prime Minister Tuesday told reporters that Saturday's 7.6-magnitude had left 23000 people dead and 4.1 people injured.

But he added that the death toll might rise further.
