The Chinese Ministry of Health(MOH) and the Ministry of Agriculture have jointly set up a zoonosis prevention mechanism recently to cope with diseases such as bird flu and swine-flu, according to the MOH.
The mechanism suggests the establishment of a zoonosis prevention workgroup, which should hold meetings regularly to inform and report zoonosis' among humans and animals across the country.
In case any kind of zoonosis breaks out, the two ministries will jointly ask experts to conduct epidemic research and experimental inspections, as well as giving treatment advices.
The mechanism also asked for regular meeting for experts, to conduct such diseases' surveillance work.
A national anti-flu leading group was just established by HOM to monitor the coming flu season and ensure the preparation of vaccines and emergency medical responses by the end of September.
China has in past successfully controlled outbreaks of bird flu with a combination of vaccinations, culling and surveillance. It reported two outbreaks in western regions of Qinghai province and Xinjiang Urgyer Autonomous Region earlier this year.
