A spokesman for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council Thursday said the Communist Party of China and the Kuomintang Party were communicating with each other about the upcoming first cross-Strait economic, trade and culture forum.

The forum will be held in Taipei in the late December.

Li Weiyi, spokesman for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council said the two Parties were negotiating the details of the convention of the forum, including the namelist of the present persons.

Li also confirmed that Shao Qiwei, chairman of China Tourism Association, will lead a delegation to visit Taiwan in near future. The visit was for inspecting Taiwan's tourism destinations, transport and reception facilities, so as to organize more mainlanders to have a tour in Taiwan.
