Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan met in Beijing Thursday with a Thai delegation led by Visith Leelasithorn, the chairman of a Chinese-Thai guild in Thailand.

Tang spoke highly of the contributions made by the nine Chinese-Thai guilds comprising the visiting delegation to Sino-Thailand friendship, economic cooperation and China's reunification over the years.

China will keep to the policy of peaceful development and is always glad to foster friendly relations with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and neighboring countries, Tang said.

There is a large population of ethnic Chinese living in Thailand and other Asian countries.
