Jason, C. Ho, mayor of Taichung, Thursday said his journey to southwest China's Chongqing municipality was a "perfect experience."
He made the remarks while meeting with Wang Hongju, mayor of Chongqing.
Ho came here to attend the fifth Asia Pacific Cities Summit, which opened Wednesday morning, China's youngest municipality. Approximately 1,000 representatives from 124 Asia-Pacific cities participated in the summit.
Ho said he was very honored to have been invited for the summit and was very glad to see the rapid development of Chongqing.
He meanwhile offered an invitation to Wang for a visit to Taichung.
During the meeting, Wang said Chongqing is a nice place and a good choice on the Chinese mainland for many Taiwan investors.
Ou Chin-der, former deputy mayor of Taipei and a deputy chief of Tao Yuan County, also met with Wang on Thursday. They proposed to strengthen cooperation and exchanges with Chongqing in the areas of traffic control, and treatment of industrial waste water and garbage.
During the three-day summit, the first of its kind ever held in Asia, mayors, businessmen and scholars will discuss the relationship between human beings and nature.
In June this year, Ho and Ou came to Beijing to attend a "World Mayors Forum."
