Sino-Japanese strategic dialogue to cover many topics, FM spokesman
font size

The third round of China-Japan Strategic Dialogue scheduled for October 14 through 17 in Beijing will cover a wide range of topics concerning all areas of ties, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Kong Quan in Beijing Thursday. Kong told a regular news conference that China and Japan are important neighbors. They have had rapid development of bilateral ties in recent years and expanding exchanges and cooperation in various fields.

However, there are enormous problems in Sino-Japanese relations, which require earnest treatment with a serious attitude from the two sides, said Kong, hoping that the Japanese will work actively with the Chinese to implement the consensus reached between leaders of the two countries so as to jointly push forward the development of bilateral relations in the new century.

China and Japan held talks in Beijing in May and in Tokyo in June.
