The Honorary Chairman of the Chinese Kuomintang Lian Chan paid a visit to the "9.18" Anti-Japanese War History Museum Saturday afternoon in Shenyang, capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province.
Lien and his family arrived at the museum at 2:15 p.m. He watched the tangible evidence and written materials collected by the museum as proofs of the invading Japanese army and carefully listened to the introduction by the museum staff.
"Northeast China was occupied by the Japanese invaders for 14 years and my hometown Taiwan was even under the control of the Japanese for 50 years. These are the great shame of our nationality," Lien said.
"We can forgive, but we will not forget, and we will never permit any attempts to tamper with history," he said.
He said history told us that people will not suffer the invasion and torments unless the country is growing stronger and more stable.
