Sino-US JEC kicks off to discuss financial issues

The 17th meeting of the Sino-US Joint Economic Commission (JEC) opened in Xianghe Sunday.

Chinese Finance Minister Jin Renqing and his US counterpart John Snow co-chaired the opening ceremony of the meeting.

During the two-day meeting, issues of common concern like global macroeconomic situation, Chinese and US fiscal and monetary policies, development of financial departments are scheduled to be discussed.

Established in 1979, the JEC serves as a regular forum for Chinese and US officials to get together and discuss economic issues.
