Chinese top advisory body leader calls for assisting CPC in science, population work

Leader of the Chinese top advisory body called on his peers to work harder still to assist the Communist Party of China (CPC) in science, technology and population work as he concluded a four-day conference of the body.

Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), made the remarks at the closing meeting of the 11st session of the Standing Committee of tge 10th CPPCC's National Committee in Beijing Sunday.

"We should adhere to the strategy of reinvigorating our country through science, education and trained personnel and increase our ability of original renovation, Jia said, adding the study of population development strategy should go on.

He acknowledged that "we should continue to reduce the population so as to improve the citizens' quality,

In the CPPCC,There are many scientists and experts working on population issues, who are important forces in accomplishing the modernization of science and technology and resolving conflicts between population and development in China, the top advisor said.
