Nation to adopt access practice for emergency aid doctors

China is expected to adopt an access practice among its emergency doctors to safeguard timely and professional medical aid when public emergencies take place.

With the increasing exchange of cross border medical technologies and talents, the fostering and management of medical talents in China must get integrated with that of the world, said Li Zonghao, chairman of the Emergency Medicine Society of the China Disaster Prevention Association here Saturday, who is attending a week-long forum here in Guilin.

The growing demand of high level medical services from the public also makes it necessary for China to lift the overall quality of its emergency doctors, he said.

It's a general phenomenon that the emergency aid sector is not being paid adequate attention to, which has rendered the doctors in the sector in an unstable situation, said Liao Xiaoxing, director of the emergency department of a hospital in Guangdong Province.

"The emergency doctors should not be trained to know smatteringin every field," said Liao. "Instead, they should be only trained to become specialized only in emergency aid."
