Chinese top adviser appeals for further assisting CPC's future work

Chinese top adviser called all his peers to work harder still to assist the Communist Party of China (CPC) so as to help turn China into a moderately affluent society as he concluded a four-day conference.

Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), gave remarks in his closing speech of the 11th session of the Standing Committee of 10th CPPCC's National Committee in Beijing Sunday.

The main agenda of this session was discussion and study of a CPC-approved draft program for China's economic and social development in the next five years.

The CPPCC National Committee will list studying and implementing the program as its political task in a period of time to come, Jia said.

"We should achieve the significant status and instructive role of the scientific concept of development in the country's economic and social development," Jia said, "and we will intensify our assistance to the CPC and the central government by means of researching major issues pertaining to the China's overall development."
