Qinghai-Tibet railway linked-up
China announced the completion of Qinghai-Tibet railway, the world's most elevated railway on Oct. 15, 2005. The track-laying of Germu to Lhasa section, with a total length of 1,142 kilometres was launched on June 29, 2001. Photo taken on Oct. 12 shows builders are celebrating the completion of track-laying in Lhasa station.

Alonso wins F1 Shanghai Grand Prix

Shenzhou-VI taikonauts return home safely, mission successful
Chinese astronauts Fei Junlong and Nie Haisheng wave flowers beside the re-entry capsule of China's second manned spacecraft, Shenzhou-6, at its landing site in Siziwang Banner (County), north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, early Oct. 17, 2005.
