font size

At least 13 people, including six women, drowned and several were missing when a boat capsized in Bihar in north India Monday morning, Indo-Asian News Service reported.

The overcrowded boat carrying over 30 people capsized in the swollen Kosi River in Purnea district. Rescue operations are underway.

After the shocking incident, local people blocked the nearby national highway to protest negligence by the district administration, which they said was responsible for the accident.
