The two Shenzhou VI taikonauts, Fei Junlong and Nie Haisheng, arrived in Beijing at 9:28 a.m. on Monday, after safely landing on earth earlier in the morning.
State Councilor and vice president of Central Military Commission Cao Gangchuan greeted the two heroes at the airport.
Radiant and triumphant, Fei Junlong and Nie Haisheng stepped down from the aircraft to warm applause.
Cao shook hands with the two taikonaut heroes and delivered a warm welcome address on behalf of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the State Council and the Central Military Commission.
Cao said that the taikonauts had braved hardship and danger, successfully completing the space flight and space experiments. They have won honor for the Chinese nation and the Chinese people, he said. The nation and people are proud of you.
Cao also encouraged the two taikounauts to perservere in order to notch up new achievements.
Fei and Nie were in good shape and excellent health when they arrived back on earth after a 115-hour, 32-minute spaceflight. The objectives assigned to the Shenzhou VI manned spacecraft mission, which included a successful blast off, a spaceflight without incident, a safe return and the preservation of the taikonauts' health, have all been fulfilled.
