font size

Leaders of some overseas Chinese associations in Myanmar on Monday spoke highly of China's manned space mission of Shenzhou-6 spacecraft, attributing the complete success to one of the great achievements made by China after carrying out the reform and adopting the open-door policy.

Describing the success as a great pride to the Chinese people as a whole, Huang Yaoting, chairman of the Myanmar-Guangdong Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said in an exclusive interview with Xinhua that the success of China's second manned space mission indicates the wisdom and ability of the Chinese nationalities, the potential and creativity of whom were aroused by the reform and open-door policy.

He also appraised last Wednesday's remarks by Premier Wen Jiabao at the launching ceremony, who said China's development of space industry is for the cause of peace, fully clarifying that the Chinese government and its people pursue peace and love peace.

Lu Zhenbin, chairman of the Fujian Native Association, said overseas Chinese in Myanmar, along with those across the world, were overjoyed and proud of the successful space mission, stressing that the success also stands an achievement of China's development in economy and science and technology.

Other leaders were moved when they came to learn that young scientists and technicians have become the core strength of China's space industry, saying that the emergence of successors to China 's space industry would bring about a brighter future.
