China hopes to enhance cooperation with the World Bank in poverty reduction and development of rural area, said Chinese Vice Premier Hui Liangyu in Beijing Tuesday.

While meeting with World Bank President Paul Wolfowitz, Hui spoke highly of the mutual-beneficial cooperation between China and the World Bank in the past 25 years, saying that the World Bank played active role in promoting China's rural development and poverty reduction.

Wolfowitz said China has made remarkable achievements in poverty alleviation and its experience is worth learning by the international poverty reduction work.

The World Bank will continue to support China in solving problems facing agriculture, rural areas and farmers through various means.
