Thai youth delegation visits China

A Thai youth delegation of hundred students and dozen government officials arrived in Chengdu Monday afternoon, starting a 10-day China tour.

"What I would like to see mostly in China is giant panda," said Soodsuk Pakphum, a high school student.

Jiang Guangping, an official with the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, said the exchange of youth delegations' visits between China and Thailand was one of the activities marking the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

"The purpose is to enhance the mutual understanding, "said Jiang, adding that a Chinese delegation of about 100 students is scheduled to visit Thailand in December.

During their four-day stay in southwest China's Sichuan province, the Thai delegation will participate in a series of activities with Chengdu students, including visits to a research center of giant pandas and other scenic spots.

The Thai delegation will conclude their China tour on Oct.26, after visiting central China's Hubei Province and capital city Beijing.
