font size

Chief of Army Staff of the Royal Nepalese Army (RNA), Pyar Jung Thapa, left Kathmandu Tuesday for Beijing for a week-long visit of China.

Thapa is visiting China at the friendly invitation of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) on the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and China, the state-run Radio Nepal reported.

It is believed that this visit will contribute to further strengthening and deepening the relations between the RNA and the PLA as well as promoting relations between the two countries, the radio quoted Thapa as saying.

Thapa is leading a six-member Nepali delegation to visit China, the radio added.
