A ceremony marking the opening of the re-entry capsule of the Shenzhou-VI spacecraft and handover of articles onboard the capsule was held at the Chinese Academy of Space Technology on Oct 19.
The Shenzhou-VI spacecraft carried sixty-four articles onboard during the space mission, including souvenirs for China's space mission, flags, plant seeds etc. A national flag that marched with Chinese scientists on a polar expedition, a flag of the International Olympic Committee, a flag for the 2010 Shanghai Expo, a special issue commemorating the 100th anniversary of Shanghai-based newspaper Shenbo, a Chinese painting and art works by children were displayed at the ceremony.
The Notary Office of Beijing Municipality witnessed the opening of the re-entry capsule and handover of the articles retrieved. All articles were returned to the owners who will decide the whereabouts of them.
