Brunei presents royal chariot to China
font size

The Bruneian government presented a real-size replica of the Royal Chariot of the Sultan of Brunei to China as a gift Thursday at the on-going second China-ASEAN Expo held in Nanning, capital of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Ahmad Bin Haji Jumat, Minister of Industry and Primary Resources of Brunei, said at the presenting ceremony that the government and people of Brunei paid special attention to China's role in the region and beyond. He expressed the hope that the continuous display of the Royal Chariot in China would not only remind the people in China of the friendship between the two countries, but also encourage them to come and visit Brunei.

The Royal Chariot was used by Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, the 29th King of Brunei, during his coronation on August 1, 1968.
