The Standing Committee of the 10th Anhui Provincial People's Congress passed a resolution at its 19th session stripping the committee's deputy chairman Chen Weixi of the post.
According to the resolution, which was adopted on Friday, Chen was ousted from the tenure of being a deputy to the 10th Anhui Provincial People's Congress on Oct. 12 at the 23rd meeting of the Standing Committee of the 13th People's Congress of Huainan City, Anhui Province.
And the latest resolution was made strictly in line with Article One of the 48th Regulation of the Law Regarding Election of Deputies to National and Local People's Congresses of China.
The resolution has been submitted to the Anhui Provincial People's Congress to be put on records.
No obvious reason was given for Chen's ejection.
Chen, 58, served as secretary of the Huainan City Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 1996, and both the secretary of the CPC Huainan City Committee and chairman of the standing committee of the people's congress of the same city in 2003.
He, also a deputy to both the 15th and the 16th national congresses of the CPC, was elected as deputy chairman of the Standing Committee of the 10th Anhui Provincial People's Congress at its first meeting held on Jan. 25, 2003.
