Cummins Inc. increases investment in China

The Cummins Inc., announced rencently to invest $ 300 million in China in next five years. Its third JV Xi'an Cummins will be put into production in 2006. By then the East Asia Research Center will be operational.

China is becoming Cummins' biggest overseas market. In 2004 its turnover in China broke $ 1 billion, accounting for 10 percent of its global business. Its turnover is expected to reach $ 3 billion by 2010, and the annual output will hit 70,000.
