Indonesia's electronic sales up in first nine months

Indonesia's electronic sales in the first nine months this year grew by 26 percent compared to the same period last year, the Bisnis Indonesia reported here Monday.

The oil price hike did not reduce people's affordability to purchase those products, said the report.

Spokesperson of the Electronic Marketer Club Handoko Setiono said that the sales of refrigerators in the first nine months in 2005 reached 1,411,470 units, or 15 percent higher than the same period in 2004, air conditioner was 634,418 or 26.6 percent higher, washing machine reached 504,156 units or grew by 9.5 percent.

However, the sales of television in the period declined to 2, 710,013 units or lower by 9 percent, he said.
