Senior CPC official meets French guests

Liu Qi, secretary of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), met in Beijing Monday with Dominique Strauss-Kahn, national secretary of the Socialist Party of France.

Liu, also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, briefed the French guest on China's current political and economical situation as well as the just-concluded fifth plenary session of the 16th CPC Central Committee.

Liu and Strauss-Kahn also exchanged views on party relations and international situations.

Strauss-Kahn is here at the invitation of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee.
