State and Communist Party leaders have mourned the death of Ding Renlin, vice minister of state security, who died of illness on Oct. 11 at the age of 61.

According to an official obituary notice, Ding joined in the Communist Party of China (CPC) in March 1966, and began his "revolutionary job" in September 1968.

He was a deputy to the 14th and 15th CPC national congresses, and a leading figure of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
