GM to increase compact car production
font size

CEO of GM - the world's largest automobile producer Rick Wagoner said the company is drafting a reserve solution for increasing production of compact cars in case American market's demand for fuel-efficient cars and light trucks lasts till next year.

He said it is still not clear whether this autumn's gasoline price hike has resulted in permanent changes in American drivers' preference.

Rick Wagoner said at GM's headquarters in Detroit that if look at the sales in the last 45 days and make a judgment on next year's sales the result would be quite different from the production plan conceived 45 days ago.
