Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas described on Tuesday as ridiculous reaction firing homemade rockets by Palestinian militants at Israel.
Speaking to reporters in Ramallah after his return from a foreign tour, Abbas said, "It is so sorrowful that such a reaction is ridiculous, because if Israel punishes us by killing some men in Tulkarm, these rockets are punishing us once again."
He said that the worst is that Israel used airplanes and helicopters to punish all the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip after rocket attacks.
On Sunday night, the Israeli army stormed Tulkarm refugee camp and killed two Palestinian militants, one of them a commander of Saraya al-Quds, armed wing of the Islamic Jihad (Holy War).
Jihad immediately launched 25 homemade rockets from northern Gaza Strip, only four of which landed at Israeli empty areas while the rest hit Palestinian homes, an Interior Ministry spokesman said.
Israeli F-16 warplanes and Apache helicopters flew over the Gaza Strip and broke the sound barrier in response to the rocket attack.
