China would like to work with Serbia and Montenegro to enhance political trust and pragmatic cooperation in all fields, said Chinese Vice President Zeng Qinghong in Beijing Wednesday.

"The two countries have all along supported each other on the principle of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit, and shown mutual understanding on issues concerning each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity despite the profound change of the international situation," Zeng told visiting Foreign Minister of Serbia and Montenegro Vuk Draskovic.

He expressed gratitude for the adherence of Serbia and Montenegro to the one-China policy, and believed it would continue to support China's reunification cause.

Vuk Draskovic said China's development is not only beneficial to its own people, and but also conducive to safeguarding the world peace and stability. He said the government of Serbia and Montenegro thanked China for its principled stand on the Kosovo issue, adding that Serbia and Montenegro will, as always, adhere to the one-China policy and push forward relations with China.

Zeng also exchanged views with Vuk Draskovic on bilateral economic and trade relations.

Vuk Draskovic is paying an official visit to China from October 22 to 27 at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing.
