UN Conference for quake relief to be held in Islamabad
font size

United Nations conference for reconstruction and rehabilitation of quake-affected areas will be held in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad on Nov. 18, local TV GEO quoted UN Chief Relief Coordinator Jan Egeland as saying Thursday.

The UN official made fresh appeal to world community and donor agencies for more relief aid for rehabilitation of quake victims.

The aim of the conference is to harmonize the relief efforts being carried on for the reconstruction in the quake-ravaged areas, he added.

Egeland said that 22 big field hospitals were in quake- devastated areas, which he believed were insufficient to cope with such a large number of injured people.
