8 out of 15 major sedan producers see declined profits
font size

During the first nine months this year China produced 2,113,100 sedan cars, a growth of 17.7 percent (over the same period of last year, same below), as shown by the data released by the State Statistics Bureau on October 26. But the production growth didn't result in profit growth.

Statistics showed that September became the second month of high production, next only to June. With a 17.7 percent growth of production and 18 percent of sales, the sales profit growth for the sector of sedan car stood only at 0.4 percent, while profits dropped 52.9 percent.

Among China's 15 major sedan producers, four were in the red and eight reported declined profits. Only three of them, including Tianjin Xiali, reported fairly big profit increase.
