Senior CPC official meets DPRK press delegation

Liu Yunshan, head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met in Beijing Wednesday with a delegation from Rodong Sinmun, the leading official newspaper of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

The delegation, headed by Rodong Sinmun Vice Editor-in-Chief Choi Yang Ho, is here at the invitation of the People's Daily.

Liu, also member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said the CPC treasures Sino-DPRK traditional friendship. It is an unswerving principle of the CPC to continue consolidating and strengthening Sino-DPRK friendship.

Liu expressed congratulations on the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea as well as the 60th anniversary of the publication of Rodong Sinmun.

He hoped the official newspapers of the two ruling parties would further enhance exchanges and cooperation.

Choi Yang Ho said the People's Daily and Rodong Sinmun, as newspapers of the two countries' ruling parties, have played important roles in deepening DPRK-China friendship.
