Chinese premier leaves for home after SCO meeting in MoscowChinese Premier Wen Jiabao left Moscow for home Thursday after attending the fourth heads of government meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). At the meeting on Wednesday, Wen proposed five measures on boosting economic cooperation among member states and also with observers states of the SCO, which envisage good policy, better infrastructure, closer agricultural cooperation and increased regional and international exchanges. At the meeting, the leaders signed agreements on mutual aid in disaster relief and banking cooperation among member states. The SCO groups China, Russia and four Central Asian states -- Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Mongolia joined as an observer in 2004. Iran, Pakistan and India were granted observer status in July. During his two-day stay in the Russian capital, Wen met with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss bilateral relations and major international issues on the sidelines of the SCO meeting.
