China's top legislature approves UN Convention against Corruption

China's top legislature, or the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, on Thursday voted to approve the UN Convention against Corruption.

The Chinese government endorsed the United Nations Convention against Corruption on Dec. 10, 2003. By September 15, 2005, the UN Convention against Corruption had been approved by 30 countries. The Convention will go into effect on Dec. 14, 2005.
