Singapore supports its companies to join the harbor construction in Dalian, said visiting Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in Dalian Saturday.
Lee arrived in Dalian, a harbor city in China's northeast Liaoning Province, on Friday evening.
Lee said the cooperative relations between Singapore and Dalian can date back to 1985. "Through the visit this time, our businessmen showed great interest in making investment in Dalian and the northeast China as a whole."
Lee also noted that northeast China has a big potential of development, and Singapore will offer support to encourage more companies to invest in this area.
Sun Chunlan, top official of Dalian, briefed the guests on Dalian's economic and social situation, hoping that Dalian and Singapore would further enhance cooperation in harbor, logistics, hi-tech and tourism.
During Lee's stay in Dalian, he visited some joint-ventures and the Dalian harbor.
Lee is scheduled to leave here for Beijing later Saturday.
