The government of Bangladesh issued the highest terror alert in the capital Dhaka, bordering areas and elsewhere across the country after deadly serial bombings in New Delhi on Saturday.
The government has alerted its border troops "to keep watch on the movement of terrorists" along the Bangladesh-India border, Munshi Jalaluddin, spokesman of the Bangladesh Rifles, told Xinhua Sunday.
The Bangladesh Rifles will check the suspected personnel coming from India "if they had any terrorist links both in India and Bangladesh," the spokesman said.
The highest alert was issued on Saturday covering rail stations, bus and launch terminals, shopping malls and other public places.
The police authorities ordered installing check-posts at different entry points leading to Dhaka and conducting search of suspected commuters and vehicles.
All officers on duty were asked to keep constant patrol and surveillance in view of the latest bomb blasts in New Delhi which reportedly killed over 50 people.
The terrorist attacks in the neighboring country merged when Dhaka was being put under a security blanket for hosting the 13th summit of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation scheduled on Nov. 12-13.
