Chinese, Syrian FMs talk over phone on bilateral ties, Middle East

Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing exchanged views with his Syrian counterpart Farouk al-Shara over telephone Saturday night on bilateral relations and the situation in the Middle East at an appointed time.

Li is currently accompanying General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Chinese President Hu Jintao on a three-day official goodwill visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Chinese Ambassador to the United Nations, Wang Guangya, also exchanged views with the ambassadors of other permanent members of the UN Security Council recently on the situation in the Middle East.
