Asia's largest lighting fair in HK attracts 24,000 buyersSome 24,000 buyers, of which about 60 percent from overseas, visited the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair that ended on Saturday, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (TDC) said Saturday. The TDC believes that the good turnout reaffirms Hong Kong's status as the sourcing hub of lighting goods in Asia. Featuring a wide range of lighting products from 1,035 exhibitors, the fair was held from Oct. 26 to 29 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. The TDC said the number of overseas buyers increased by 12 percent to 13,9411 for the fair. Buyers from the Chinese mainland have increased by nearly 16 percent, indicating the rising demand for lighting products stimulated by the fast-growing construction industry there, said the TDC. In the first nine months this year, Hong Kong exported 919 million Hong Kong dollars (117.8 million US dollars) worth of lighting products to the Chinese mainland, an increase of 36 percent over last year's same period. The fair was organized by the TDC and the next fair is scheduled for Oct. 27 to 30 next year. Source: Xinhua |
