Chinese vice-premier meets Volkswagen CEO

Chinese Vice-Premier Zeng Peiyan met Friday in Beijing with Dr. Bernd Pischetsrieder, chief executive officer of automobile giant Volkswagen AG of Germany, and his party.

Zeng said China and Germany enjoy sound relations at present, with growing exchanges and cooperation in various fields.

Zeng hoped that Volkswagen work with Chinese partners to further improve the technology of automobile products to meet the needs of the Chinese market.

Pischetsrieder expressed appreciation for the Chinese government's support for Volkswagen, noting that Volkswagen is ready to constantly expand investment and business in China.
