Myanmar top leader praises relations with ChinaMyanmar top leader Senior-General Than Shwe on Monday highly evaluated the country's friendly and cooperative ties with China, saying the relations will be further consolidated and developed. Than Shwe, chairman of the State Peace and Development Council, made the remarks when receiving credential presented by new Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Guan Mu, who arrived last Wednesday to take up his post. Linked by mountains and rivers, Myanmar and China are friendly neighbors enjoying a traditional "paukphaw" (fraternal) friendship, Than Shwe said, expressing belief that with the far-sightedness of leaders of the two countries, the bilateral friendly ties will see continuous consolidation and development. He also thanked China for its aid to Myanmar in all sectors, and briefed Guan on Myanmar's domestic development.
