In the first three quarters this year, China reported 289.68 billion US dollars of foreign trade of high-tech products, up 26.2 percent over the same period last year, according to the latest statistics from Chinese Customs.
From January to September this year, China's import of high-tech commodities was 139.64 billion US dollars, up 19.8 percent over the same period last year, while the export stood at 150.04 billion US dollars, up 32.8 percent.
In September alone, China's foreign trade volume of high-tech products hit a record high of 39.58 billion US dollars, with the import of 19.19 billion dollars and export of 20.39 billion dollars.
In the first nine months, China imported 70.17 billion dollars of electronic-technology products, 24.57 billion dollars of computers, and 17.93 billion dollars of telecommunication technology products, up 27.8, 21.5 and 11.9 percent year on year, respectively.
China imported 56.28 billion dollars of integrated circuit products during the period, accounting for 40.3 percent of the total high-tech import.
China imported 7.85 billion dollars of cell phones and related accessories, 7.46 billion dollars of computer accessories and 7.38 billion dollars of computer drives, up 16.9, 20.0 and 45.8 percent, respectively.
In the first nine months, China exported 17.46 billion dollars of electronic-technology products, 73.15 billion dollars of computers, and 48.11 billion dollars of telecommunication technology products, up 32.6, 27.4 and 36.8 percent year on year respectively.
In the first nine months, high-tech import of foreign-funded enterprises grew 24.3 percent to 110.99 billion dollars, while exports rose 33.6 percent to 131.7 billion dollars.
The high-tech product exports of collectively-owned enterprises, private enterprises and state-owned enterprises grew 59.4, 48.1 and 15.4 percent in the nine months, respectively.
